Visual Stimulating Therapy

Visual stimming is one of the self-stimulatory behaviours that children with autism often present with. It may include repetitive behaviours such as: Staring or gazing at objects, such as ceiling fans or lights. Repetitive blinking or turning lights on and off. Moving fingers in front of the eyes feel at home learning center is using following types of visual support :
Types of visual support
• tactile symbols/objects of reference, eg swimming trunks, packaging, food labels.
• photographs.
• short videos.
• miniatures of real objects.
• coloured pictures.
• plain squares of coloured card.
• line drawings.
• symbols.
